TOKYO -- Japan Airlines, which has been operating under a form of government administration since running into debt problems in 2008, resumed operations under private ownership from April 1.
In March, JAL won approval from the Tokyo District Court to procure a total of almost 255 billion yen from 11 financial institutes, including from primary creditors, allowing it to make a one-time full repayment of what were termed "Reorganisation Claims" amounting to 395,145 million yen.
