Fed: Investment down $6.3b: Access Economics

Investment in local infrastructure projects fell another $6.3 billion in the last three
months of last year.

The leading economic forecaster, Access Economics, says the fall was driven by the
cancellation of projects such as the second Sydney airport at Badgery's Creek and the
Speedrail fast train link.

Investment in transport equipment, oil air and rail shows signs of picking up, with
committed projects well ahead of those under construction.
